Final interior perspectives
My main chosen site Shed 6 on the waterfront in Wellington. The site is perfect because the industrial style building is very open and spacious and has beautiful views out to the harbor, so it’s mid city and industrial, but also has strong natural elements. The interior of the shed would have a screen set up to contain the pods within the enormous site and projectional images of landscapes would brighten up the space, emphasising the “away from the city” feeling I wanted to create for my design… Just like a Japanese tea garden or courtyard which creates a miniature landscape in an inner city environment.
One possible site, and optional layout at the walkway beside Frank Kitts Park. As my design is constructed from cardboard and the interior is also left open, the pods would be covered with a clear or translucent tent like cover
Resolved detail of design
Both the different pod shapes with each of the panels shown in an exploded view. Also showing the slots cut into the panels so that they fit together (supporting panels have slots in the top so the top panels can slide into them)
Interim video, starting to deal with the five sections of my design concept: Growing, processing, brewing, drinking, composting, along side: Welcome, viewing clothes, trying on clothes, buying the clothes, exit/farewell.
